Three Pennies

Stan Rogers

When day comes. on this mountain,

To your well I will go,

Drink from you deep, Watch you in sleep,

And down meadows green softly go...

Three pennies bright, thrown in the water,

Singing they fall from the light,

One's very bold; one glimpse of gold,

And one's for your thoughts in the night...

BRIDGE: Then wild babies laugh,

Sprawled on the grass,

Dew from the moss your eyes gleam,

The sun draws the path,

The well draws at last, (a glass??)

I drink from your contents a dream..

White picket fence, built round your garden,

In strawberry rows a golden glow,

Winds from the east, day break brings peace,

And down meadows green softly goes,

TAG: And God bless the trees as they grow,

And God bring us peace as we grow,

And bless you and me as we grow...
