Rusty Barbed Wire Dream

Meade Skelton

V1: Rusty Barbed Wire Dream, things aren't always

what they seem; Now that we have the desire,

The wanting it builds like a fire;

I'm so lonsome for my friends; I played a

fool and so it ends; Like tumbleweed on that

barbed wire- so tattered and torn by desire

C: Like a moth drawn to a flame; I knew the rules

I played the game; Forgetting all my guilt and

shame, because ya know that I was blinded by

fortune and fame

V2: Training wheels still on the bikes

Neglected lie two rusty trikes; The yard

needs raking the house is a mess; Can't

afford to buy her a cocktail dress

C: Like a moth drawn to a flame; I knew the

rules I played the game; Forgetting all

my guilt and shame; Because ya know that

I was blinded by fortune and fame

Rusty Barbed wire dream. Things aren't

always what they seem; Now that we have

the desire, the wanting it builds like a

fire;. I just keep holding on, to something

that's going wrong, hoping it will turn out

right.
