Late night in the pub
Right in Open Mic Time
I crossed the door wanting to have some fun.The music was echoing
The neon lights shining
And then you showed up with your black guitar
You climbed up the stage
As if it was yours
Your pick got my eye
As you started playing chords
I lost my focus when I heard that song
The one that I dance all night long
And I met this guy at the pub in the corner
His old rock songs stood the whole room up
But when I came to ask his name or where did he come out
He gave me a smirk and shut the door on my face
They call him rebel, they call him riot
They call me player, and I′m not proud
They call us lots of names but none of them is ours
If you wanna find out, you better watch your mouth
I got out of the pub
In my old 50s car
Driving down the highway with her laugh in my mind
I turned around
I stepped on the throttle
Looking for her gaze, but I was colorblind
They were coming for you
September night in the street
I was going to punch them, but then you kicked me
As you muttered a sorry
I suddenly realized
You go on your own, now I see
And I met this girl at the pub in the corner
Her vintage looks made them come around
But when I came to ask her name or where did she come out
She gave me a smile and started walking away
They call her angel, they call her lady
They call me player, but I'm not easy
They call us lots of names but none of them is ours
If you wanna find out, you better watch your mouth
Oh, oh, oh I never would have thought that you′d come back
Now, I know, I was just trying to save you from the dark
No, I'm not a damsel in distress, and you should know that
And we met each other at the pub in the corner
Our harmonizing stood the whole room up
Now we don't need to ask our names or where did we come out
We shared a smile and sang the night away
They call us outlaws, they call us crazy
They call us players, but we′re not easy nor proud
They call us lots of names but none of them is ours
If you wanna find out, you better watch your mouth
