Child Of Tomorrow

Keith Hancock

Where is the child of tomorrow

Gone like the child of today

Innocence replaced with sorrow

They've taken her childhood away

They've taken her childhood away

They taught her their rights

And they taught her their wrongs

Things don't turn out as they'd planned

For though she objected, they made her play along

Now she knows things she can't understand

She knows but she can't understand

Yesterday's child ran with wind in her hair

Played in the frost and the cold

Almost a woman she has to take care

But she's just eleven years old

Shes's only eleven years old

After the child of tomorrow

Here's the woman today

Knowledge replaces the sorrow

And pride takes her toment away

Pride takes her toment away

In holding her down, they taught her to fight

Showed her the way and the how

And she knows she'll win

Because she knows she's right

And more tha nthey bargained for now

She's more than they bargained for now

Yesterday's child ran with wind in her hair

Played in the frost and the cold

Now she's a woman and they'd better beware

No more will she do what she's told

No more will she do what she's told
