Mind Eraser

Edward Monett

Sometimes what I play just ends up sounding like shit

And sometimes I can't keep it in tune

But I'm playing for the love and my playing grows with me

I wonder if we're better with age?

Standing on the corner watching life go by

I've seen a lot of ends and beginnings

Kept the wheel turning cause I'm ready and able

But it's just another autumn day

And a mind eraser would really hit the spot

You want to talk about it but I'd really rather not

Where's that mind eraser, won't you send it down to me

And pardon me a moment while I drift off in the sea

Turned around a corner and there you were again

Troubles come and found you and its bad

I wish that I could help you but I hate to say can't

I'm not the one to help you, I've got troubles of my own

I just keep on thinking that I might wake up

And the twin towers would be standing again

But its still a pile of rubble and that's where we lost our lives

Yesterdays upon us and it won't be letting go

And a mind eraser would whittle off the edge

And cover all the bets that you suggested that I hedge

Gimme a mind eraser as we saunter through the snow

The less we can remember, the less we'll ever know
