There Were Roses

Cara Dillon

my song for you this evening,

its not to makle you sad,

not for hurting to the sorrows,

of our troubled northan lands,

but lately iv been thinking and it just wont leave my mind,

i tell you of two friends one time, they were both good fiends of mine,

? ? ? is prosident,

and sean is cathlic born,

but it never made a diffence for the friendship it was strong,

and sometimes in the evening when we heard the sound of drums,

we said it wont devide us we will always be as one,

''chours''

there were roses. roses

there were roses

and the tears of the people run together

it was on a sunday moning when the awful news came round,

another killing had been done,

just outside urintine,

we knew that eyes had sanced out there,

we knew he liked the band,

but when we heard that he was dead, we just could not undestand,

the ear it filled the country side,

there was fear in every home,

late at night a car came, proding unning ride and road

a cathlic would be killed tonight,

to even out the score,

but crist its young macdonald they have taken from the door,

''chours''

there were roses roses

there wee roses

and the tears of the people un together

i dont know where the moral is,

or where this song should end

but i wounder just how many wars will be faught between good fiends

and those who give the oders

are not the ones to die

its scott and young macdonnal

and the likes of u and i

''chours until fade''
