The Lonely Dance

BackGroundNoise

Nothing left to hide, nothing left to give,

Even when you're still alive, you don't get the chance to live.

You never did the things you did, you never said the things you said,

Just because your body's living, doesn't mean your soul's not dead.

The world you once belonged to, never even stood a chance,

So now you're just another lonely stranger, in the lonely dance.

We dance in limbo, while the world around us screams,

And we kiss with masks that hide out faces, while the dancers dream.

But the world turns, and the people burn, and the armies still advance,

For what is life and dreaming, but another lonely dance.

So the angels dance, and the demons laugh,

While the devil takes your future, and the world kills your past.

And you run around doing all the things, that seem to make your life worth while,

But any blind old fool can see, that we're a people in denial.

So we fall back into music, and shirk the worlds demands,

Becoming just another lonely stranger, in a lonely dance.

We dance in limbo, while the world around us screams,

And we kiss with masks that hide out faces, while the dancers dream.

But the world turns, and the people burn, and the armies still advance,

For what is life and dreaming, but another lonely dance.

So we build the walls, and we guard the gate,

And we sit alone and watch our spirits die beneath the weight.

Who can bridge the gap we've made, who can turn the world around,

Who can pull the blighted soul of man, from this way of death we've found.

The rocks you built your hopes on, is sinking in the sand,

And so your just another lonely stranger, in a lonely dance.

The world around is sinking, but the darkness still remains.

Can it be that death's the only life we're getting for our pains.

But keep your hopes, and don't die alone, and you may just have a chance,

To be more than just one stranger, in your lonely dance...
